New Hampshire

Part of the 13 original colonies, New Hampshire became the 9th US state in 1788. New Hampshire borders Massachussetts, Vermont, Maine and Canada and prominently features the White Mountains and is commonly known as the “Granite State”. Some people may not realize that New Hampshire has a bit of Atlantic Ocean coastline.

Concord, New Hampshire is the Capital and calls itself “The Heart of a Healthy New Hampshire”.

New Hampshire earns its living with farming including dairy and poultry, lumber, stone, chemical and electric products.

Famous people born and raised in New Hampshire include the 14th President of the United States, Franklin Pierce, 1853-1857. Also astronaut Alan Shepard and the writer John Irving.
