Lynchburg, Virginia

A city smack in the middle of the state, this is not the famous Lynchburg of moonshine whiskey. But at the base of the Blue Ridge Montains, there is no doubt moonshine in these hills. This Lynchburg is nestled between the mountains and the James River, with a history going back to the Lynch family and their ferry to cross the river. Near the slightly larger city of Roanoke, Lynchburg is also home to Liberty University.
